(5 STARS BECAUSE- It's a quality product and this company at least put a little effort in and created a hula hoop for A GOOD PRICE and used MATERIALS I CAN'T PICK UP AT ANY HARDWARE STORE. Most hoops bought on line are around 15-35 dollars for a basic hoop PLUS 15 or more dollars to ship AND it cost them around $35 to make 8 hoops, it's all profit after that.)
I was searching the web for some fun exercise videos when I came across the hula hoop craze. I did a bit of research and decided to try this product.
The hoop arrived in good condition and was easy to put together with the exception of the last piece that one took a couple minutes but with persistence I got it together. The hoop is made out of plastic and feels lighter then I thought it would but it is sturdy and doesn't pop apart when it hits the ground.
The 'wavy' inside can be a bit uncomfortable at times. I'm not good at hula hooping. During my first 10 minutes I think I had to start it at least 15 times and that's when the curves start to hurt slightly. Once the hoop is going I didn't find it uncomfortable at all.
I've had it for a few days now and I'm still not much better. I'd love to blame the hoop but it's more likely my own lack of rhythm and athletic prowess.
I would purchase this product again and if I get the hang of hooping I'll probably purchase more weights/sizes. Otherwise I'd make my own from instructions I found while searching.
